What benefits will a family home retreat bring?
We've reached the halfway point in renovating a local clients man-cave and it’s got us thinking. What is it that's so appealing about these personal retreats? Does the satisfaction of a she-shed or man-cave live up to the lure and hype? Here why we think it does.
In a hectic world running at a crazy pace, an area dedicated purely to, relaxing, isolation or enjoyment can act as a sanctuary. A space to unwind, enjoy hobbies, or just socialise in our own custom setting. If you love watching movies, reading, gaming or drinking, these havens light a passion and act as a psychological wall blocking out the stresses of todays world.
Your environment affects your ability to think freely or get stuff done. A personal space enhances creativity and mental well-being. Inspiration in often found in a persons most comfortable place, in a space customised to their needs. Stress levels can act as a barrier to progression and maximising your brains potential, having a room especially tasked with lowering stress levels can do wonders for your mental health.
A well curated space may not only add to your well being and quality of life, but may also add value to your home. A well-built bar, workshop or retreat space be a great selling point when moving on and it may well work out that it cost you nothing at all to renovate.
Moving on to the second part of the refurb, it’s exciting to think about the benefits this will bring our client and his family. A man cave, a she-shed, or something in between, having a personal get away will bring you a place of peace in your own home.
